In the mid 90’s, Smashing Pumpkins were one of the biggest rock bands on the planet. In the year 2000, they almost seemed like has-beens. What happened? Adore. In this episode, we revisit the album that killed the Pumpkins’ commercial momentum and critically assess its merits and shortcomings. We will also review its production history, the general critical and fan response, while discussing front man Billy Corgan’s musical relevance and Adore’s place in the band’s discography.
